On a weekend trip to Paris to catch up with some family and wander the chic Parisian streets, eat bakery delights from the Boulangerie and duck leg from the Brasserie, one of the main things we had to organise (and often the biggest headache) was the accommodation. Paris is huge with many gorgeous areas and half decent hotels here are not renown for their value for money. Hostels are also €30 just for a dormitory...

Recently we went on a lovely trip to Paris, and instead of doing one mammoth post outlining every single thing that we did, I thought it might be nice to instead break the trip down into easier to read bite sized chunks. Paris, or if you’re feeling particularly French, pronounce it “Parriee” – and make sure you do the R in the back of your throat. Jokes aside, I love Paris. Don’t get me wrong, in parts it was dirty and grungy just like those pessimistic travellers would have you believe, but the side of it that is wondrous and magical more than makes up for it.
As with most places, it really depends on ‘where you go’....
