Since I’m currently living in Rotterdam, I felt I should do up a little ‘Best Things To Do In Rotterdam’ list – I even have a category on Active Backpacker for exactly that sort of thing, so it would be remiss of me not to drum up a mini travel guide to Rotterdam from an expat’s point of view.

Recently we decided to get the train to the charming and quaint little city of Delft. Via the train it’s about fifteen minutes from where we are living in Rotterdam – being an Australian it’s crazy to think that a mere fifteen minutes away is a COMPLETELY different city with its own personality and vibe.

Recently we attended a function in Rotterdam known as Museum Night or ‘Museumnacht’ in Dutch – it’s a night when the city’s museums open their doors and welcome everyone (who has a ticket) with open arms into their arty and historical folds.
It was a great night, and we went along with a good friend of Trudy’s and some of her girlfriends.

On Saturday night a Dutch friend took me to see a Feyenoord match in De Kuip (The Tub) which is their home ground stadium.
