As the year comes to a close more and more people are starting to plan their end of the year vacations. You no doubt have tons of exciting and exotic locations to choose from. However, if you are looking for a country that offers absolutely everything that you could ever want to see or do then you most certainly have to consider Bulgaria. This country is filled with tradition, elegant coastline cities, and historic (and ancient) cites. And, to make things even better it’s incredibly cheap and offers just the perfect amount of affordability for anyone that is traveling on a tight budget. Below, you will discover the top five things you can do in the country while you are there.
Take In Some Shopping In Plovdiv
Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and it should be considered what Paris is to France. There are tons of amazing shopping centers that offer some the most stylish and fashionable clothes that you will find. Of course, the clothes aren’t nearly as cheap as the cost of living, but they are very stylish. If you can’t afford the shopping, you can just sit in the beautiful square and sip coffee over a cheap lunch.
Food Tour In Sofia
Do you consider yourself a foodie? Then, you are going to love the free food tour in Sofia. The tour is conducted by Balkan Bites and offers a trip through three of the top restaurants in the area. These restaurants are all family owned and offer some great sampling. There will be enough samples available to pretty much get a free lunch out of the tour. And, remember that Bulgaria is one of those Canada eta eligible countries.
The Beautiful View Of Sunny Beach
If you find yourself wanting to escape the culture, get a tan, and meet some fellow tourists then you will without a doubt have to pay a visit to Sunny Beach. Sunny Beach should be considered the Balkans version of Costa del Sol and you will see why once you are there. There is also a local water park called Aquapark that is located nearby and it is one of the biggest water parks in the entire country. It is home to the longest and highest water slide in all of Bulgaria.
The History Of Nessebar
If you are coming from Sunny Beach, you might as well pop on over to Nessebar as it is just a bus ride away. The UNESCO town sits right on top of the rocky peninsula on the Black Sea and is an ancient city with a history that can be dated back to over 3,000 years.
The Seven Glacial Lakes Of Rila Mountains
Located in the Rila Mountains, you can find seven glacial lakes that are referred to as the Seven Rila Lakes. The Lower Lake, Fish Lake, Twin Lake, and Kidney Lake are located at the foot of several peaks and probably one of the biggest attractions in Bulgaria. While here you can also take in the nearby monastery that is known as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rila Monastery. Just keep in mind that it can be tricky navigating your way to the Rila National Park. In fact, if you are coming from the capital, you will have to take a tram and then two different buses.
